POLITICS AND WOMAN by Aduagba Faruq Olaitan.

POLITICS AND WOMEN: The untold stories of female's right deprivation.

Politics as defined by Merriam Webster dictionary is the activities that relate to influencing the actions and policies of a government I.e the science of government.

A woman on the other hand is also being defined by the aforementioned dictionary; as an adult female human being. Female's right deprivation according in today's society is keenly adopted by many as regarded as a continual mindset as seeing the female gender as a tool for the kitchen only.

Politics on the long run has always been termed as a game of an individual brawn and brains and as such tends  to bring out the best in every human psychology.

But rather, reverse is the case in our today Nigeria's politics. Setting on the pace of the untold stories of Female's Right deprivation in the Nigeria political atmosphere. I have read and come across women of prospect that are being political and apolitical but yet still performing extremely well in their line of work.

Women right deprivation from politics has always been an avenue whereby an ordinary Nigerian sees a woman as a tool of the house charged with the sole responsibility of children upbringing and at some point, some families do not even give out the chance to get their female children educated thereby justifying their actions through misinterpretation of their religious beliefs and inherited cultural beliefs as well.

The female children suffers a lot of hypocrisy in the aforementioned regards above but which unfortunately has taken a deep root in the minds of every single Nigerian. Even some individuals of the Female Gender as well has attached a widespread acceptance to the exclusion of the female children from politics at some point.

There is a need for proper sensitization and freedom for our female children so as to breed a society of equal representation and fairness. Also due to some certain misinterpretations of religious beliefs and inherited cultural beliefs, some families deprived their female children from getting proper education with the saying that education is meant for the male children and not that  female children. Alas! This is a sad and unwelcoming mindset that should be incinerated away from individual selves if truly we are to offer a chance of astute participation in politics to the female gender.

The female gender suffers a lot of privations in the the aforementioned regards and in a natural phenomenon, their mindset are being built to be political and social apathetic.

With a little experience from my side having grown up in the midst of the female gender, there is an urgent need for proper sensitization, freedom and Permission for our female children to do the needful and be participatory in societal governance so as to breed a society of equal representation and inclusion.
